In 1984 when Dr. Young was just starting Shelby Hearing Center, she contacted Cleveland Community College and asked for recommendations for an office coordinator position. Melissa, fresh from earning her associate degree in business from the college, was recommended by a professor. The rest is history — she’s been here ever since!
Melissa loves her job because she has the best boss and coworkers (obviously!) and she gets to interact with people. She appreciates knowing she gets to be a part of helping people improve their lives.
She’s married to her high school sweetheart, their son will soon be graduating from Appalachian State University, and she has a little dog that runs the household. She absolutely loves hot rods and old collectible cars.
